Last weekend the music festival Way out West took place in Slottsskogen, and all around Göteborg actually. This was the 2nd time around for the festival and this year the line-up was fantastic, with numbers like Neil young, Sonic Youth, Frans Ferdinand and Sigur Rós pleasing the crowd. Monthly's photographer, Gregg Bucken-Knapp, was at the spot, capturing some of the finest moments on stage.

On May 1st every year, the streets are filled as socialist and communist parties of different shades of red take to the streets, chanting their witty chants, displaying their banners full of slogans both earnest and clever, and proclaiming their message of solidarity for every resident of Göteborg to see and hear.

Each year, Göteborg plays host to the second largest half marathon in the world. 45,000 runners took to the streets of Göteborg on May 17th, having been blessed by ideal running conditions: light breeze, gorgeous blue sky and temps hovering around 12 degrees celsius.
