If you are bored of the same old sports - soccer/hockey/innebandy and would like to try something new and exciting then Gothenburg Gaelic Athletic Association may have the answer. They play Gaelic Football and Hurling. Both are Irish national sports but played worldwide wherever there is an Irish ex-pat community. Both sports can be quite difficult to explain to the unanointed but Gaelic Football may loosely be described as mixture between soccer, rugby and Aussie Rules. Hurling is an ancient Irish sport and would be more like hockey in that it is played with with a stick(hurley) and ball. For a better idea check out these clips from youtube:

So if you've checked out what it's all about and haven't been scared away by the prospect of being chased around a field by 15 crazy Irish men and women with sticks please hit on Gothenburg GAA's homepage at
www.gothenburggaa.se for more details. New members are always welcome.
